Welcome to the Division of Performance Reporting

The Division of Performance Reporting is responsible for developing the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) reports, which pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. These reports also provide extensive information on staff, finances, programs, and demographics for each school and district.

From the information contained in the AEIS, the division also develops and implements the state Accountability Rating system used to rate Texas public schools and school districts. The state accountability rating system includes campuses and districts rated under standard and Alternative Education Accountability (AEA) procedures.

Gold Performance Acknowledgments (GPA) are shown along with the accountability ratings on the state Accountability Ratings site; search for GPA by year. Further uses of the AEIS data include publication of Snapshot, Pocket Edition, and the School Report Card (school report cards may be viewed through the AEIS site).

The Division of Performance Reporting also evaluates all public school campuses, districts, and the state for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as required under the federal accountability provisions in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.

Accountability Rating: This refers to the district and campus ratings assigned by the 2007 state accountability system.  Districts and campuses are evaluated on performance on the TAKS, SDAA II, completion rate and annual dropout rate. Possible ratings are:

•Exemplary;

•Recognized;

•Academically Acceptable;

•Academically Unacceptable;

•Not Rated: Other; and

•Not Rated: Data Integrity Issues.

The above ratings apply to districts (including charter operators) and schools rated under the standard accountability procedures.

Campus Reports -  This search will produce the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) report or the Campus Comparable Improvement report for a selected campus. You may choose either an HTML report to view online or a print-ready PDF file which can easily saved to a computer’s hard drive, or to any portable media and printed.

2006-07 Comparable Improvement

Comparable Improvement (CI) is a measure that shows how student performance on the TAKS reading/ELA and mathematics tests at a given school has changed (or grown) from one year to the next, and then compares that change to that of the 40 schools that are demographically most similar to the given, or "target" school.  The average Texas Growth Index (TGI) values for the 40 member group are rank ordered and the resulting list is divided into fourths, or quartiles.   Schools that fall into the first quartile (i.e. top 10 schools of the 40 in their campus group) receive Gold Performance Acknowledgment for CI.  From this web page you can access a school's comparison group to see a list of the 40 schools most similar to the school, as well as the performance growth of each school on that list. Simply go to the Campus Group and CI Report. These 2-part reports are calculated for every school in the state, along with their AEIS reports every year. An explanation of the grouping methodology and Comparable Improvement can be found in the AEIS Glossary.

Two other items are available through this web page: the District Summary (in PDF and HTML format) provides a list of all the schools in a district with their CI quartiles; and the Quartile Summary provides an analysis of the quartile positions of the 40 schools in a target school's group.
